My name is Eric Booth and I'm originally from a small town in Ohio called East Liverpool. I graduated from high school in 1986 and immediately joined the US Air force. While in the military I was an Avionics Technician for the KC-135 Stratotanker and the B-52 Bomber.
In the 6 years I spent in the Air Force I dabbled a bit with photography and music. I played drums in several bands from oldies to hard core punk. Had fun in all of them but always in the back of my mind the camera kept calling me.
When I got out of the military in 1992 I was still playing in a few bands on both the drums and bass guitar. My photography feed was fed with my Stepfathers Canon AE-1. It's an Oldie but a Goodie. Anyway for many years I played in all kinds of bands but started to have memory problems with the music. I would just forget whole sections of music. So regretfully I had to give up the music but was able to fall back on my other love...Photography.
By this time the digital revolution had started to kick in. I started with several little Point and Shoots with much success surprisingly. Then moved up to the Digital Rebel for a couple years. Great camera to start with. After that I traded up to the Canon 20d. Lord I loved this camera. Along the way I purchased several lenses. Some good some not so good. Soon after acquiring the 20d Canon, of course, released the 40d. Traded up to that camera and have been loving it ever since.
Everyonce in a while I do pick up the Bass and tinker around with it but, nothing compares to the feeling of taking photographs. I would rather compose a great photograph than compose a great song.
Peace
Eric Booth
