Dark Tower

Stepping away from the macro shots for this one. This shot was pure luck. While shooting some macro shots in downtown Raleigh, NC I look up at the church steeple and see a couple crows flying around the top. Not wanting to miss the shot I left the 60mm lens on and trying to not be hit by traffic, I proceed to take quite a few shots of the birds flying around the tower. I picked this shot because of the lone bird flying away from the tower and the position of the clouds in the sky. I knew when taking these shots they would make killer BW photos.

The photo was converted to BW and a Duotone added in Adobe Camera Raw. Then some lens vignetting was added to get that dark mood I was feeling when I took the shot. I just love the gloominess. Very Stephen King.
